Senior Network Engineer-VMware focus

Looking for a few good techs with VMware expertise for a full-time Level IV Network Engineer position. This includes maintenance of existing infrastructure, planning and execution of upgrades and equipment changes, and responsibility for our Private Cloud stack. We manage and support VMware Networks in-house and at client locations.

Network Engineer – Level 4 Network Technician with VMware focus and strong network infrastructure skills and experience
Skills: 6+ years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining Microsoft Windows platforms, PC Hardware and Software, VMware hosts and related VMware components and management tools, Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) as a Level IV Technician; Excellent communication and documentation skills; fast-paced, dedicated, flexible, takes pride in their work.

Required Skills:

  • 6+ years of experience as a Level IV Tech troubleshooting and maintaining MS Windows platforms
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain Microsoft Windows Server in production environment
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain Microsoft Exchange Server
  • VMware experience including ESXi hosts, creating new servers, use of VMware tools such as V-Center, V-Sphere, etc.; ability to troubleshoot and maintain environment; managing MSA’s and host drive space
  • Datto Siris line servers
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues
  • Troubleshoot Wireless Connectivity, public/private wi-fi networks
  • Documentation including tickets/work orders

with a passion for hardware. This role includes research, pricing, purchasing, while providing updates to the
other Techs regarding the ever‐changing world of hardware.

  • Minimum one (1) year Server troubleshooting and maintaining Windows Servers
  • LAN, WAN Networks – basic troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Hardware familiarity in small business environment (10 to 200 users) such as workstations, servers,
    firewalls, etc.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting Windows 7, Windows 8
  • Experience supporting users with day‐to‐day tasks in Outlook, Browsers, network printers, and similar
  • Exchange Server
  • Server Imaging experience – Acronis, Shadow Protect
  • SonicWall Firewall (or similar), VPN familiarity
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience purchasing computer equipment using a Purchase Order system
    with multiple vendors, tracking shipments
  • Experience researching hardware solutions, ensuring compatibility between components, quoting and
    ordering servers, workstations, laptops and network peripherals
  • Good math skills
