Measure Twice, Code Once: Custom Software That Pays for Itself
Developing software Apps and Agents are the new trend in the business world. It used to be that if you wanted a custom program, script, or automation, your only option was to engage a Program Developer. Things have changed a LOT and AI has driven a great deal of it, lowering the barrier to entry. With the latest low code AI tools, you can build some straightforward automations, and we covered that in Part I. In Part II, we shared the next level of tools that allow you to partner with our Business Application team for some amazing solutions.
When is it best to go straight to our Programmers (whose world is also changing rapidly!) so they can write the code? How can you help streamline that process? So glad you asked!
In this free webinar on Thursday August 13th at 11:00 am Central time, we’ll answer this question and dive into the third pillar, the next level of accessible options. This is Part III of our three-part series, expanding on our earlier webinar from March 2026. We’ll dig into:

Updating Paygroups in Sage 100 Contractor
Each year (and sometimes more than once a year), unions publish new rate and benefit sheets with specific start dates. There is a very methodical process in Sage 100 Contractor that allows you to get all the reports you need for the old rates, get the new rates updated in one place, then update the employee default hourly rate, and make sure the next reports are right for the union – without over paying for a few days of overlap!
AND, we’ll review how Job Paygroups work. You can actually indicate which Paygroups are to be used on a specific job. This could save you a lot of time!
Join Catherine Wendt for a 45-minute review of this process, including tips and tricks. Registration is required – seats are limited.
If you have payroll with union employees or you use paygroups for prevailing wage jobs through Sage 100 Contractor, you need this webinar!
Free for Syscon clients and a $45 fee for guests. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

Stop Fighting Your Software: Custom Solutions Built for the way you Build
Join us as we share a variety of custom solutions we’ve built for contractors to help them run their company more efficiently. Sometimes it’s a custom report within the software; sometimes it’s a Power BI report; sometimes it’s an integration between two software solutions to cut down on duplicate entry and data errors; sometimes it’s something custom to meet a specific need or a huge project you just took on! Our Business Application Consultants and Software Development teams have been cranking out some amazing stuff!
We’ll share:
– The types of custom solutions available to you
– How to pick which solution based on the goal
– Some suggestions on how to work through the outcomes your team wants to see and who needs access
– Security considerations across the varied software tools
– Some hiccups we’ve seen clients experience (but no names will be shared!)
– The type of projects we’ve created from reports to integrations to custom solutions (to get the creative juices flowing). We’ll even share our Sys-fit Challenge Power App project.

How to Prepare for 1099’s at Yearend
Every year we get questions about 1099’s: Who should receive them? How do I get a list? How do I know if I have the Federal Tax ID numbers? What forms do I need? And More!! There is a deadline to have these in the mail to your vendors, and a deadline to file the 1096 (summary page) with copies, so it’s important to plan ahead.
We’re not your CPA and we recommend you check with them. However, we do this each year and have quite a few things we can share so you can be ready. In this webinar, we will cover:
– The general guidelines regarding who should receive a 1099
– How the W-9 form plays into this
– The Sage 100 Contractor 1099 Types and where these are flagged
– How to pull a report to see the Vendor payments, who may need a 1099, and what information might be missing
– The general deadlines to send the 1099’s to the vendors, and to file the 1096 and Federal/State copies
– The latest info we have regarding what can be printed to plain paper, perforated paper, and what may need the ‘red’ forms

We’ll have a little time for Q&A at the end. Attendance is free for Syscon clients and $40 for our guests. We look forward to having you join us for this 30-minute webinar on Thursday January 8th at 11:00 am Central time!

We engage with so many people across the country, and we spend a ridiculous amount of time listening to podcasts and ‘playing’ with our technology. The tips and tricks not only make using these tools more enjoyable but actually increase your efficiency (and reduce frustration!).
Whether you’re a basic user or a super user, we’re confident you’ll pick up some very practical tips to use with Windows 11 and to use with your M365 licenses. We’ll start with a recap of Part I, then jump into the rest of Chris’s list. We had great feedback from Part I and are really looking forward to Part II.
